[Fallout I] The Cathedral with some problems

Hi all. Sorry for my bad english.

I'm playing with Fallout I and finally arrived to the Cathedral.
I problem: Here i encountered some warriors that disappeared when i've tried to exit the Cathedral. (and this is the first problem). Why?

II problem: i went talking with Lather (is it right?) in the NW area of the Cathedral. He tells me he gave me something ( the Distinctive, i suppose) will help me with Nightkin (they would not attack me), but i never find any object in my bag. Why?

III problem: I steal the distinctive but anytime, when i meet the Nightkin, they attack me instantly. Why?

IV problem: I still have gun .223 and the "military coloured" armor. My friends are Jan, Dogmeat and Katja. Everytime the Nightkin (only them, other enemies aren't a problem) attack me, they make 30 to 150 damage point. Is it normal? Or am i too "weak"?

V problem. I never went to the Glow for the Brotherhood of Steel Quest. Have i the time to go there, make what has to be done, go the the Brotherhood and come back to the Cathedral???

Heh, I love people saying that. Either go and learn some, or don't say it and let us assume it's just your type of slang, or whatever. Why start digging your own grave (OK, that's just my personal opinion which I got being a mod on some other forum, and its relation to the topic itself is infinetisimal).

Because you tried to leave the Cathedral. The Followers warriors are supposed to return to the Library after you leave the Cathedral grounds. That be it.

'Cause it's bugged and you never get it.

Maybe that's because you have NPCs with you, or you're not wearing Robes. Both perhaps, as I read from the next part.

Well, come up to someone with a minigun or a flamethrower and say 'you're a jerk', and we'll see how many points of damage will you get. Yeah, that's rather normal.

You need to get a certain disk from there, but obviously I won't tell you what disk, for non-spoiling sake. And you don't have to return to the Cathedral, Citadel is what you'll want

I'm Italian, not an englishspeaker. It isn't my slang but my minimum knowledge of the language.

i have to go with robes without NPC? Where can i find robes? if i let my party, where i'll find them when i'll need them?

(with another savegame i went to Glow so i know what you are speaking about) well, do you suggest i should go to the Glow and then to military base?
Before i can go to the military base i have to return back to the brotherhood of Steel 'cause on my map i haven't the location of military base.

Now i have some questions (excuse me, i'm boring):
I - have I to leave the party and try to take the robe (killing everybody??) and go to Morpheus and the Subterranean Zone?

II - And then have i to go to the Glow -----> Brotherhood ------>military base? Or is Cathedral the final place??

III - Going to Glow ---> Brotherhood ----> Military base will not spent all the time before the mutants attack (due to travels)?

Sorry for all my questions (and my bad english ; if you want you can correct my errors ) and thank you so much if you will be patience to answer

You can find robes in the Follower Library, but the Nightkin will still attack if you have NPCs with you. Ian and Katja stay where they are if you tell them to leave, so you can pick them up again, but you can't do that with Dogmeat.

You don't have to do things in any particular order; either the Cathedral or Military Base can be done first. Going to the Brotherhood for some better armor will make fighting mutants much easier. And with the v1.1 patch, that time limit is removed – once you've returned the water chip, you can take as long as you want.

Oh it's great! I didn't know that!! It was my real problem cause i had to deal with those 30 days to choose what to do (this is why i was already in the Cathedral while i had to do Brotherhood's quests).

Ok. So, i will go to the glow(eating two RadAway or something white&red sounding like this ) and THEN to the Military base. The Cathedral will be the last place.

To be clear, you still have to give the chip to the Overseer within 150 days. Once that's done (and there's no reminder note on the Pip-Boy), you can wander about freely. In v1.0, the Vault would be invaded 500 days from the start of the game, and that's the limit that was removed.

Don't worry about your english; there are plenty of non-native speakers here, so we don't expect everyone to be perfectly fluent.

Now i have installed Fallout II and i'm searching for mods/patches and so on.. i will use the "search" function in this forum
