Note: If I make any contridictions, then please, don't have a go at me for it, I've tried to keep as far away from the Fallout canon as I can. Also, this story will contain alot of going back to storylines which may seem long dead, so don't get pissed if a faction is never mentioned again because it will.
Fallout Legacy
Episode One: Pilot part one (of two)
War, war never changes.
After atomic bombs filled the sky, many people emerged from the vaults only to witness nothing more then pain and death. It drove people mad, killing and destroying all that stands in their path, others learned to live a new life, one free from the mysterious experiments of the Vaults.
However, there were a few that saved the wastes from its own creation. Many events drove humanity to be alive once more, the death of the Super Mutant leader, the rise of the NCR and the fall of the Enclave. These events however were not random and were foretold by another hero of the waste. His name is not important, but the story’s he told were. Now, in the year 2260, a young waste Lander hears the story of the Vault Dweller, how he helped save his Vault and was betrayed by his friends.
This is the story of the Waste Lander, the one who emerged from a vault from a completely different government then those of the enclave. The oldest foe of the Enclave, the Royal Government of the USA…
New York
Allan Howard sat on his bed, thinking about what he was going to do. He was twenty-five years old and all he wanted to do was explore the Wasteland. He looked at his rug sack; it contained three bottles of water, a map of New York, an assault rifle and spare ammo. He looked at the table, next to him and picked up a first aid box and three packets of crisps.
He stood up at put the rack sack on. He then picked up a hand gun from the table and put it in his holster. He walked to the door of his small room and looked round for the last time, he knew he was never going to walk in this room again.
In what night in New York and Allen walked down the poor streets, walking past the homeless try to get comfortable, he knew he had to make one last stop before he left…
The Howard residence
Allen knocked at the front door. The house wasn’t as badly damaged as the others in New York, it was actually very nice, there were a few plants growing out in the garden and there was even a big lawn of grass, unheard of in the Wastes.
The door opened, an old woman stood there with a big smile on her face.
“Allen, long time since I saw you” the old woman said.
“Yeah, sorry about that mum. But I didn’t stop for a long chat” Allen replied, with a serious face.
“Why’s that?” the old woman asked.
“Because I’m leaving New York. Don’t know how long I’ll be, I may never return again. But I might. I’m not too sure, it’s just New York is just too small you know? I see the same people everyday, I guess what I’m trying to say is, I want to move on in life and I just can’t do that here” Allen replied.
There was a long pause; the old woman looked at her son as if he was crazy.
“Well, if that’s what you want, come in, I got something to give to you” the old woman said with a smile.
The inside of the house was much better then Allan’s home. It was clean and everything was carefully placed.
Allan sat down on a rather clean chair, waiting for what his mum was going to give him.
“I suppose your ready to have this” the old woman walked in the room, with a small box.
She handed her son the box, he opened it to find a metal necklace with a strange symbol in the middle, it was of an arm holding an axe.
“What is this?” Allen asked, confused.
“It was your father’s, he used to be a traveller, it was how we met. When I asked him what the symbol meant, he would just say that was his greatest thing he ever found, I have no idea why. But he loved it so mush, so I guess it’s yours now, I have no use for it. Maybe, you will be able to learn what it means someday” the old woman explained.
Allan stood up.
“Well, it’s time for me to go, I will make sure I’m safe out there so don’t worry bout me. Just look after yourself and tell Mary where I’m going” Allan said with a smile.
“By the way, if you meet a guy named Barry Goodworth, tell him, the Reith will come” the old woman told Allan.
“Why, what does it mean?”
“He will know.”
So, Allan walked outside, taking his first steps out of New York and into the big bad world.
