Fallout - mouse moves too fast

Akin

First time out of the vault
Sorry if this has been covered, but when I search for any variety of "mouse speed" that I can think of, I get more results than I know what to do with, none of which actually seem to address the problem...

I've started replaying Fallout (Fallout 2 is next... 3's coming up, ya know), and while it's running pretty well (occasional black screens aside), the mouse cursor moves wayyy too fast. I can control it, but it's a pain...

Anyone know if there's a way to slow it down? The "Mouse Sensitivity" control goes from "Normal" to "Faster", but it's already set to "Normal"...

Thanks...

Your mouse sensativity in Windows might be set too high.

Or maybe the DPI of the mouse (assuming it's optical) is too high.

Well, it works fine for every other game or app I use... I was hoping there was a way to make it work for Fallout, too...

I had this too and it is easy and simple to fix:
1. Open your fallout folder
2. open the "ddraw.ini" file in notepad
3. find the words "MouseSensitivity=100" (It is probably set to 100)
4. change the 100 to something more civilized

I think that's it. No idea if it detroys your pc or makes nukular explosions somewhere but...

Another Fo2 players reviving my memories here.

That file is a part of my sfall mod. Unless Akin is already using it or another mod that is dependent on it, (killap's patch, megamod, etc.) then it wont be there.

Of course, you can just install sfall if it isn't already there. It doesn't cause any problems adding it mid game.
