Fallout No Sound - XP

Hi, I have been playing Fallout for awhile (questing in HUB) and I haven't had sound the entire game. I got used to it for awhile and now it's just starting to annoy me.

I have Windows XP, plenty of room on my hard drive, direct x 9c, and my sound works for everything else.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

I've had this too, usually closing the game then restarting it works. If not, a reboot always works.
