fallout:quests

Briosafreak

Lived Through the Heat Death
there are now two games distibuted as a series of chapters-you download the first chapter, then if you want more you a small amount for a new chapter.
personaly i`m not very convinced with the idea(there`s one that we have to download 85 megs :( )
But it seems possible to produce a Fallout:Quests
-a post-nuclear serial rpg.
would it be a good idea or not?

It's really not a bad idea, but I don't think its a good one until more computers are equipped with faster internet connections. Downloading an 85 meg file is not something I like to do very often (if at all) over my 56k connection. I don't think it would be tough to design. Both Fallout games have "chapters" where the main character goes off on his adventure to complete one quest. Then, once he finishes that, finds another, greater challenge facing him. Maybe one day Black Isle will convince Interplay to do something like that if they like the idea as well.

they could offer the games engine and the first few chapters as a giveway in magazines(the guys that created "arabian nights" did just that, i have the first chapter in a cd giveway from a french magazine-"joystick").
if you like it, then you go to the internet and ask for more; on the editors viewpoint, you`ve got many more potencial customers trying the game,
a broader potencial base for sales.still...
