Fallout Remakes

Mirenheart

First time out of the vault
Hello. (Enough introduction)

I've noticed that there are at least two Fallout recreation projects going on right now.

There is http://blog.devoidstudios.com/ which you guys already know of (since they linked to your site). This one is using the Crisis engine (or the Unreal 3 engine, i don't quite know yet as I just found it).

Then there is http://www.fallout3mod.com/ which is currently on hold until after the release of New Vegas. It's on hold so they can see if New Vegas has anything good they can use, as well as time to make major updates to their site (or even make a new site). This one is using Fallout 3's Garden of Eden Creation Kit. The fallout3mod is going to be renamed Fallout 2161.

We know about both, but what's the point of that thread? :> The Fallout 3 one has a thread in the Fallout 3 modding board as well. The other one is around here somewhere too. Also it's not "restoration", but more like "recreation".

Recreation includes things like parks, swimming holes, and community YMCAs.

The fact is no one here wants to,
a. put forth the effort of making a game
At the core, one must be able to accept the comitment.

b. spend their life converting FO 1 & 2 content to fit in with X new engine.

c. innovate.
Change is a violin. We fear that as violinists we will rub the fallout franchise the wrong way.

I hope I haven’t misunderstood you - but I find the visual language of Fallout very enjoyable…to me and many others eye candy is the least important factor in a good game, innovation for the sake of innovation makes no sense to me. If someone wants to build a new Fallout inspired game based on the originals, I say good luck to them, but I’m totally satisfied with the old clunky version of Fallout…the game isn’t always friendly to the casual modder, but there’s plenty of life still left in the game and I predict people will be still adding to the core of the game in ten years time.

You have granted me the Awareness Perk. It is the legend we love, and it is the legend we must carry forward. The only thing missing from Fallout, is more Fallout. Brilliancy!

Did we commanded another 4too ?

Bold comparison, but seems invalid to me. Actually, it's not that hard to comprehense 4too, if you ask me... Not hard at all.

Still, the question remains - what's the point of this thread? If it is purely informative, then it is more than obsolete. Maybe I'm missing something here..?

Ho, come on, I am not that far off :D
He took a word out of context, elaborate, deviate, then makes methaphore and metaphoric poetic fallouty allusion! 4too style!

Eh, hum, back to topic. Yeah, about this thread, I thought it was just to spam us with the link in the banner, but there is no direct link. So, I don't know...

I was just being informative. Didn't realize you guys already knew. You did, so go ahead and disregard this thread.

Unlikely what happens in qhimm forums, everything about fallout is traced here and indexed so everyone has access to it.

Something like this page but much more extended.
