Hmm, not sure I can help you here. The line for the missing dialogue reads:
Error loading message file text\russian\dialog\pcatmwrk.msg at offset 203.

Which indicates the .msg files are located in the 'russian' folder. But mine are stored in the English folder...

I can't really do much more if I don't know what version of the game you are running. Sorry.

If you start updating the translation in my build yourself, then there is nothing surprising. No need to write about such errors in this topic.
uh ok didn't know it was something added by you foxx then disregard my post @Cambragol
I had similar problems after updating the translation by myself.. long story short the footlocker is a leftover from an addon mod that's usually present in Foxx's release, if you screwed up something, than Your best bet is to start saying what you did exactly to update, because ppl here are unaware what you've screwed up, and if they don't know what's wrong they won't be able to help you..
So Foxx is right..

anyways not only the translation has to be present in mods folder and the patch000.dat=1 must be present in mods_order.ini but also there's a certain other .dat file that not only has to be present in mods folder, and mods_order.ini but also has to have higher priority than patch000.dat (meaning it has to be below patch000.dat in mods_order.ini) or was it two .dat files... anyways the dat file with bookseller mod and the english translation of bookseller mod have to be present and the english translation of bookseller mod has to have higher proprity over translation.. only then the mod will be usable.. don't ask me how the file was named as I forgot how it was named, since I haven't played in a while.. I was busy recently doing some handywork for Fo:Yesterday project regarding my specialisation field in this modding community, some NDA stuff so don't ask
thanks it wasn't anything gamebreaking so it doesn't matter much i thought it was some leftover from the translation

no it's not a leftover from translation, it functions correctly if trnaslation update is done properly,

a.k.a You're missing out on a extra two npcs and an additional game feature.. the skillbook seller..
the missing npcs are Ashley ( the bookseller) and her faithful canine guard.. normally if you'd tamper with the footlocker the dog would attack, You could only buy those books.. however due to improper way of updating the translation, you broke the mod.

yeah i fixed it by putting the bookseller.dat under the translation and then the patch_en_plus.dat from foxx under it

im also running the foxx verison, new to playing and configuring sonora.

Well, best we can do then is hope it doesn't show up again. If it does, grab a screenshot, or save the savegame.

Hopefully things are proceeding smoothly for you now.

Just a small update:

No new release, I am now about halfway through a full tree-pass on Dayglow. I have encountered 4 significant dialogue bugs so far that don't break quests, but do make moving through them confusing at best. Those will be fixed in the 'script patch' as they were not able to be fixed through dialogue alone.

Location naming has been 'problematic' in all releases English, and Russian too perhaps, because the place names are too long. My choices are to change the place names to much shorter, less informative versions, or fix the game so that it displays names on two lines, or ignore the problem.

The problem only shows up on save/load game screens. It looks like Nevada Band had hoped to split the 'location' and 'map' names onto two lines, and even built a custom load/save screen for this. However, adding a simple 'new line' fix via hex-editing likely didn't work, so things are a bit broken.

I have made a custom build of Fallout 2 CE which fixes this issue. You can see the issue below. The first image shows the default Fallout 2 loadscreen. The second image shows the default Sonora load screen (with larger location info box) and the last image shows a fixed version with the location/map lines on two separate lines.

A small thing, but there you go.
