Fallout 2 mod Fallout Sonora 1.14 and Sonora Dayglow 1.14 Vanilla Translation

Hmmm.... 8. I have worked on larger projects over longer periods. Still, a little beat down. 3-8 hours, every single day, for 5 months - I'd estimate about 600 hours. I worked on it when I woke up, during my breaks, and immediately after work. Everyday. Weekends got extra time too.

Thank you. I also like to finish what I commit to. This project had a clear end-goal. However, the addition of full tree-passes on every dialogue was something that was added in and expanded the scope considerably. Still, within range, obviously.

I truly hope that this translation can help give Fallout Sonora the recognition it deserves, and allows as many Fallout fans as possible to experience it.

Also, though I translated this as a 'No frills, no mods, no extras. Just the raw, unaltered Fallout Sonora (version 1.14) translated into English for a pure, nostalgic experience", I would still strongly recommend the 'patched' version for full enjoyment, considering the massive number of fixes included with it.

Thanks Violator, my first meme!

I am sure Foxx will update soon.

Also, though this is a 1.0 release, I am also sure there are still some typos, and imperfect spots. Not many (I hope), but there are bound to be some scattered across the 10s of thousands of words of the mod. The tree-passes involved a huge amount of edits, and I'm only human. I never bothered to run a spell check over things, as there are so many names, slang, and 'stylized' speech.

Please report any issues here and they will make it to the next release. I will continue to provide support for the translation for a few years at least.

Also, just a small side note:

I have created an English version of the Russian Fallout Sonora Wiki here

The Russian wiki is huge, containing hundreds of pages. There is no need to reinvent the wheel here, so I set about setting up the English version as a direct translation of the Russian. I have set up all the templates needed to make things match. I have also translated 70+ pages (very quick and rough, through Google translate, with follow ups for correct terms from the English version of Sonora).

Currently it is open to public editing, so if anyone feels like going crazy with Google translate, feel free. The 'Quests' page is 100% accurate to the English Sonora, so starting from there would be ideal.

Maybe this should be a separate thread...

No words except I hope you get as many space bitches as possible for all your hard work :salute:

Few things about the wiki - would it be possible to change the link color and general font text from #a1efd3/#eae2da to say #603a2e? Because this white on white makes text unreadable and the screaming cyan for the links burns eyes:

Thanks man. I will try.

There may be something wrong with your browser. The css for the wiki imitates the Russian version exactly. It should look like this:

That's how it looks for me in multiple browsers. Of course if there is an issue, I can fix it.

huh, I'm on Opera, but oddly enough I have no issues when viewing the page in an incognito tab. Maybe some extension or whatever is causing this :scratch:thanks anyway

hey @Foxx, I've downloaded your latest repack but for whatever reason when trying to run the SF-Configurator it simply draws a blank and never opens? Any idea why this is happening? I wanted to turn on the intro/cutscenes in Sonora for my new playthrough, I remember you said at one point they will be disabled by default in your version, thanks

@Violator ffs just open up the ddraw.ini and configure all options to your liking.. why the hell you rely on that SFconfigurator bloatware? ddraw.ini has everything you need to configure the game properly, no need for shady applications..

Don't be mean. I just prefer the Win95 styled menus instead of going through lines and lines of options in notepad.

Debug is disabled in the build and it seems to prevent SF-Configurator from running. In ddraw.ini, find the line DebugMode=-1 and set DebugMode=0 to zero

Probably a really stupid question but is there a way to get this translation with Sfall mods like the 1000 save game slots

I have uploaded all the source files for the translation here.

This includes everything for all 3 versions, including all the source files for scripts. It does not include credits.mve unfortunately, as github won't accept files of that size in repositories.

huh [2], just noticed this only happens if I turn the night mode on, if it's turned off everything works fine
