First time out of the vault
It has been 7 years since Legate Lanius led the Legion to victory at the Hoover Dam. The battle was bloodier than both sides would have preferred as 50% of the NCR Troops in the Mojave were killed and 40% of Legions troops there were killed. NCR managed to hold McCarran, and most of their other bases and secretly pulled out of Nevada little by little. The NCR regrouped in California and prepared for the worst, however the worst never came.
Eventually, the NCR grew curious and decided to send in a few NCR Rangers and Scouts in to check out Nevada. They found no traces of the Legion, no living traces anyway. The Rangers found for lack of a better term, Legions of Legion buried half way, face down. It seems as if the bodies were beaten, shot, slashed, mangled or all of the above. Most of the bodies appeared to be urinated on, or in some cases with higher ranks, defecated on. After a few scouting missions, the NCR found no traces of Legion, or the people responsible for doing so, the Brotherhood Of Steel Mojave Chapter managed to hide in their bunker and avoid harm at the hands of the people responsible. The information they provided the NCR stated that a large number of well armed soldiers starting moving in from Arizona, calling themselves the Mexican Union. They outnumbered the Legion and slaughtered many of their greatest warriors, pushing them from New Mexico, Arizona and Nevada. Legion managed to regroup in Utah and Colorado, and were apparently planning to take back their former states, but the Mexican Union had spread so quickly that Lanius decided that he would rather expand northbound. The Union seemingly had no interest in anything north of Nevada, but they want one last state, a state that belongs to them: California. NCR attempted to negotiate with the Union, but the Union refused to give them any land, leading to the Battle of The Mojave. The NCR managed to push them out of most of Nevada, gaining most of the Mojave back, and the two forces came to a standstill. Ever since the Mexican Union held Nevada, Chem activity has increased two fold, a cartel calling themselves Violenta Tormenta moved in on the Mojave and took over what the former Great Khans dabbled with, and made it more profitable. The NCR is currently drafting citizens for a full fledged war with the Mexican Union.
