Fallout strange graphic glitches

First time out of the vault
Ok I've tried to search around, but couldn't find anyone with my problem. So I hope somebody can help me.

I'll try to explain to the best of my abilities.

The game loads up just fine. It's when the charecter is created and the games starts up just outside the vault the problem occures. A soon as the charecter moves, or any of the rats, the screen turns black, only highlighting the areas where motion occures. If I drag the mouse around, the background appears, but disappears soon after again. This contimues to occure.

I've tried the install suggestions from NMA. Both by copying the things from the cd-rom, and with the compability mode on the setup program.. I've tried the compatibility with both the win95 and the win98. I\ve tired to change the art cache size . I've shut off any taskbar programs running, having only my graphic card and my sound card as icons left.

My computer specs are

1 gig ram
2.5 adm processer
loads of harddisk space
matrox phahilia 64mb graphic card
nvidia build-in soundcard.
Nvidia motherboard.
windows xp professional sp2

Well, there is this issue in the Troubleshooting FAQ called "Blackouts under XP", that's not it, then?

nope, it's not blackouts, or a least not as I understand blackouts, because part of the screen is constantly on. But it is all the areas without movement that disappears. I've tried to disable my card but it didn't help.

And yes I've been looking around Per, and it isn't it.

Except that that's the exact problem he's describing.

Go.read.the.bloody.stickies!

EDIT:Yes it is, Wunderhawk. Have you even tried those suggestions? Like, I don't know, *disabling the graphics card*.

Fucking hell, if I had a dollar for every newbie who came in and didn't read the stickies....

wow you guys really knows how to team up, great way to say hello to new people.

And as I said, disabling the card didn't help

We have those stickies for a reason. If you ignore them, then you get bitten. Odd concept, isn't it?
You've obviously also not lurked around here, since you'd know that otherwise.

You would've been welcomed with open arms if you'd just read the stickies. Yet you decided not to. Your problem.
