Fallout Tactics mod concept

I've been thinking about a Fallout tactics mod, but since I have virtually no skills I'd like to know if someone wants to help me. I mostly need scripters, modelers, maybe artists and at a later stage, possibly voiceovers. PM me for more info. If the project gets under way, this thread will be used for announcing the mod.

Can I now ban you on grounds of "lazy monkey who wants to have things done for himself" now?

No, but seriously, just a bit more info (how large is the mod going to be etc.) would be appreciated.

I'm not sure yet. Much of this depends on the modding ability of tactics and the time I'll have at my disposal, but I reckon it's going to be larger than FoT, more like Fallout 2. Also, it'll be a lot more story-based.

I basically want to make a mod set just before the Great war, In China, Alaska and some US cities. I haven't really figured out an ending for it yet, suggestions are welcome. I first thought about making it for Fallout 2, but the whole war thing suits Tactics more. Definitely not as RPG as Fallout 1 or 2, but with a focus on storyline, unlike FoT.

The really tricky part will be making the Fallout original power armor for Tactics (unless it's already been done, didn't find it in the files section, something I'm unable to do (I can map though).

I've made a few scrap maps in the past, it's the whole coding thing I suck at.

actually i had thought of doing a F2 mod involving before the great war. and it could easily be an RPG... but a tactical scenario would work also...

i'm sure a comedy could be made also, but not necessarily with the software tools given ;)

I'm thinking of the dead serious shit. No explicit easter eggs or pop culture references. If you have skills please apply.

*edit* Just found the Fallout power armor made for Fallout Tactics. I'm not sure if it's the Mk I or II though.

I always thought that they should of made FOT a prequel to Fallout. What's more tactical than a war? Keeping SMs, ghouls and deathclaws etc for the multiplayer maps.

I've often thought about doing a Ground Zero campaign, but run into the same problem, how to end it? My ideas were

You start as a reservist in the US Army, you've been assigned to a small Canadian city as part of the occupying force. The first few missions are police orientated. Put down a riot using tear gas and rubber bullets. Put an end to a blackmarket operation.

Then you'd move on to hunting down Canadian Freedom Fighters, protect a supply column/depot etc then assault their base.

After gaining enough promotion you'd join a front line unit and move to Alaska where you'd have several missions fighting the Chinese, rescuing a stranded tank crew, liberating an oil drilling operation (without destroying it) and a big pitched battle on the coast driving the Chinese back into the sea.

Then you'd be promoted to an elite unit and move to operations in China, more big battles, pushing the Chinese forces back, when you get word the bombers have been launched and you now have a race to attack an airfield and steal a plane to return to the States before the bombs are dropped.

As I said I was having trouble with the ending.

You're welcome to join the team. In fact, to lead it. The mod you just described is pretty much exactly what I had in mind. Except a few details. Add me on MSN and we can talk about it. Canada/Alaska, followed by China, then the US (although I have some other plans there).

About the modding ability, I think you should check out Awaken, if you haven't already.

Just an idea for the last mission.
The final mission could be to enter to a vault at the mainland in china to kill an `evil´ chinese general, a mutant in a Behemoth's/tanks controls, but when you kill him, he has a bio-sensor that activates and sends the nukes away and the END begins.
So to say it strait, it was in a way you, that started the war.
You stay in the vault, knowing that some day, you are going to be judged.!!!!!
