I am making this post in hopes I either start or hear of a novelization of the Fallout games. I think that it would be a great setting for a series of novels like the Battletech or Forgotten Realms universes. Unfortunatly I am not a writer or else I would have done this a while ago. I'd like to hear some thoughts from everyone.

Ever since FO1, I thought it would kick-arse to set a series in the FO world. I am a writer (in that I've had a few pissy shorts published, and have a novel in progress), and would put my hand up to write it.
A cool idea would be to have a site dedicated to short stories by fans, perhaps even a 'No-Mutants-Allowed' link.
Hint, hint.

Yes! Yes! YES! You read my mind, Berkyjay... That is EXACTLY what I've been looking for! I'd LOVE to read a novel about the Wasteland universe - the Fallout series, that is. I mean I'd REALLY love it! I don't know why I haven't posted this myself... Anyone else like us around? Writers and readers?

Hey I am glad that great minds think alike. Hopefully we can get a movement together. I did find some people writing some Fallout shorts. If you look over in the General discussion message board there are a couple of stories floating around.

The closest series of books I've come across that remind me of the wasteland is the "GUNSLINGER by STEVEN KING" - also known as the wasteland series
It matches alot of things in the fallout series. (landscape and visiual images anyway) So far he's written four books
the gunslinger
the drawing of three
The "WASTELANDS" -very appropriate
and wizards and glass

These books are in no way horror. there are mutant beasts. kind of like radscorpions-lobstrosaties:)giant mutated poisonous lobsters!! there are ghouls present. there are lots of strange townfolk. lots of gunfights. And of course lots of sex and violence. lots of humor too.

Great, great series
I recommend it to everyone who enjoys fallout.

Gunslinger series is a good example, but the brilliant thing about the FO world would be the slight retro, 1950's 'duck and cover', tongue in cheek attitude. The humour must be subtle but present, if that makes sense.
Anyway, if there is a movement to petition for it, count me in.

You guys mind putting your icq numbers in here? Like berkyay mentioned, great minds think alike, and i won't mind having one in my icq list in stead of hundreds of fps'ers and diablo- players.... someone worth conversating with :)

This post has been here a while so nobody will probably read this , however if you want to read a series set in post apoc. america try the Amtrak wars by patrick Tilley. 6 Book series with the Federation- Technology gathering , vault dewelling etc
vs the muties who live in the radiated above gound. Quite a few similaties. Firstn printed in 1983. I loved them . I read them again after playing FO 2

For some reason after I read any wastelandy sort of series (amtrak wars, i had completely forgotten those, wonder if they still sell them, couldn't find them. I know they gotta be in a box somewhere in this damn house.) but anyway, I always get the urge to read The lion, the witch and the wardrobe series again. I don't know why:) speaking of that. I don't know if they did this in other countries but in america they now sell the complete set with Prince Caspian - wich was the last book as the first book and if you read that one first it totaly destroys the rest of the series
and speaking of that this is totaly the wrong post to be discussing books, oh well :)

If you want a book A LOT like Fallout look for James Axler DEATHLANDS and or OUTLANDERS he writes both. They have lots of sex and violence we are talking R rated and its so close to fallout that i think it is where the fallout people got the idea to some degree.

They are REALLY GOOD BOOKS CHECK EM OUT
