fallout wont run on my pc!

First time out of the vault
can someone help, my pc that runs on windows 7 wont run fallout 1 for some weird reason i bought the game brand new from amazon and freezes on the interplay logo i can still here the opening theme but besides that it will not work. any suggestions? :cry:
 
Try this:
Run dxdiag program from Start -> Run menu. Turn off direct3d acceleration, DirectDraw acceleration on Graphics tab.
Select basic sound acceleration on Sound tab.
Locate exe-file of fallout. RMB on it -> choose Windows 95 compatibility mode.

If you'll need to play other games or whatever return those settings to their initial value.
