Fallout3 announcement delay?

I just saw on RPGDot that Baldur`s Gate:Dark Alliance 2 for the X-Box and PS2 release date has been delayed until the Holiday season, quoting a post by the normally well informed Capelworth on the Interplay boards.
So why am i posting this here? Because the official announcement of project Van Buren (that we all know it`s Fallout3) could only be made after a few artists from the BGDA2 team would join the FO3 team, making it possible for them to have enough material to show us all while announcing it, at least that was what the BIS devs have told us several times.
With this delay the chances of that happening soon now seem weaker, we`ll try to get some word from BIS about this issue soon.

Edit: We got word that there is no delay at this point, and work is going smoothly, good.

Not neccessarily... Interplay most likely just decided to hold back on releasing it until the holidays so they could get more sales (knowing that the sorta people that would want a hack'n'slash action-RPG usually need to have their parents buy the game for them).

If that's the case, then BG:DA is probably already finished (or will be soon), and nothing's stopping those developers from switching.

The reason is the break up with Vivendi, now they have to distribute the game themselves.

I really hope so...

At least it's still pretty early, so a possible delay doesn't seem like too big a deal right now. It's not even coming out until 2005, right?

I`ve edited the news piece, at this point things are moving as usual.

Don`t know when it`s supposed to be released Montez, early 2005, christhmas 2004? MistAry

Quality Launch

Quality Launch

If they've refined the design on the foundations, then BGDA2 should surpass PS2, Xbox sales. Regardless.

What's ironic is the number of console games that are sited for bugs, the last Lara Croft for example.
Perhaps this design feature, (this creature feature), whether consciously intended,... or "defacto", exhausted resignation, ""please get this out the door-out of my life"", intended, will not be an Interplay signature in the console market.

Recall a large measure of the poor response to FOBOS was the muddy screenshots poured out of a pot on to the net. FOBOS was a radical departure in expectations for the FO fans I'play CLAIMED to want to sell to, along with the hormone enhanced, sex deprived console market. A coordinated, truth campaign would have had at least FOT production values. But that's not the I'play style. Either a dark smokey, poker game of a work place, or a ministry of truth and love al la 1984, it must be a primal adversarial mindset. Dedicated to divide and conquer PR. Fan the fans into civil war and who will notice "the emperor has no clothes."

ViVendi--GE deal: media refers to VIVendi as ""under funded"''.
Perhaps when this settles down, and the Christmas sales are successful for all affiliated, FO3 will be announced on more than 'a smile and a shoe shine'. Perhaps they'll throw in a full tank of gas.

Let's trust that all those involved with VB/?/FO3 will be "in touch" with "mortality" and will fight for a quality launch. Experienced artists are a good sign. Let's trust there will be some eye candy that can stand on it's own. Not the stereotyped, cliched, pumped up steroid muscled, dynamically juxtaposed to silicone enhanced porn queen, ...tits akimbo, all three of 'um..... as a Douglas Adams throw away ""pop reference"".

Is FOT's pre pub stuff regarded as credible? I thought so. THAT helped PRE SELL to me. Got the little camo fag bag: ha ha, HA, ha ha; na na, NA, boo boo.

JE, et al, are talking major changes and innovations. FO has been out in the wasteland of the fans too long. We all have our own personal IMAGE of FO now. They will need to reshape our expectations in mass. A quality launch would give FO3 some street cred, and the strength to sell itself.

The only thing I want to know right now is:
Is Fallout 3 going to be better than sex?

I mean, is it? 'Cause if it's not, I just ain't buying it. No sirree. No Fallout 3 for me.

It's A Fallout Life

It's A Fallout Life

My dear FO enthusiasts.

Line up and face front for the daily dose of INFO'mation.

When our hormones raged we endured sex deprivation.
When our organic machinery mellowed out,.....
...............we endure sex deprivation. Same stuff different day. Dare I project that what is sex satiation varies from individual to individual, and I guarantee it varies trans gender.

I propose, right here and now before your very eyes, that those abilities that make a well balanced FO Player Character make a better balanced social attitude in that very Play-a'. Every FO Play-a' knows the importance of knowledge (Science), digital finesse (Repair, Lockpicking, Traps), and the slipperiest social lubricant SPEECH as part of the holy vehicle, the means to the ultimate end, the moment of truth, our use of small arms-big guns-energy weapons. The pinnacle, pan ultimate, big bang of a dramatic triumph of dynamic tension......

Havin' a Big Gun and devoted polishing of that skill by the max-ing of points , DOES not guarantee a full and wholly satisfying Role Playing Experience., in FO, and Life. Just hosing people down can be done, AND we know there is mo'.

I propose that playing FO trains the Play-a' in Life's many skills, and induces a will to negotiate the ""slings and arrows of our outrageous"" reality, so at least the Play-a' can play mo' FO.

We know that the best multi-play-a' online spectacular is participation in the FO fan forums, and the lurking the galaxy of FO fan sites.

A Student of FO is A STUDENT OF LIFE. Yes, you and you and you AND YOU, have strength and will to succeed. You have the might to pursue your Life's ghouls, ah... goals, on the 'broad' front, where satiation of your worldly-animal desires will flow like honey. And those fixated on streams of milk that's there too. A paradise of promises, an abundance of attitude, awaits the believer in the looming post FO3 publication apocalypse.

Yes, you and you and you and you, have it ALL right now in FO 1+2.
When you have it all, you own it all. When you a FO Play-a', you a Life Play-a', with all the responsibilities and BENEFITS.

What could be BETT'A than that......

Now. Fall out for a group hug!
