Fallut 2 on Windows Vista...Sticky didnt help

i cant get it to run...it goes to the classic "Please Stand By" Indian Chief screen, then dies. none of the compatibility modes work, its not forewalled or anything, and its not installed on my C drive.

You know, there's a good deal more to stickies than just "helping" - such as searching, posting system specs, telling us what you already tried etc. There are many threads similar to yours. Not sure there's a solution found for Vista wonkiness, though.

which vista have you got ?

i play on vista home basic without any compatibility mode or any patches / mod. (except the officials)

I have the exact same problem.

I recently installed the game on my PC, which runs on XP SP2, 3.2GHz and 2GB RAM, the game installs fine on any size, but when I run, the game closes itself without any error messages.
I tried using compatibility mode for 95, 98, 2000, NT... There's a difference, the "Loading"/"Please wait" screen appears for a couple seconds, then the game closes the same way. Since there are no error messages, I can't tell what's wrong, but I suspect it is my GeForce 6200. I also tried to disable it on the control panel, but the same occurs.
My friends have XP too, and they can play it without trouble.
Any ideas?

I have found how to overcome this problem!! One must edit the .cfg file and delete the "art_cache_size=1048"!!
I suggest that this issue is added to the sticky post.
