i cant seem to get any patches to work at all...i tried with fame, nothing changed, i tried to rename them to patch000.dat, nothing changed. i know this because i downloaded a narg replacement mod, i still got narg, i downloaded the generous klint mod, he wasnt generous...
please help
 
ok, i found out what was wrong without fame...i am running off of win2000pro. i dont see my .dat extentions, and i was renaming to patch000.dat, which became patch000.dat.dat
about the klint mod, i got frank horrigan and i was turned invisible, couldnt see meself, is that sposed to happen or am i missing something?
 
Don't use any of the equipment you get from mods until after you complete the temple. The native characters (i.e. what you look like until you get the vault suit) don't have artwork for holding firearms... thus, if you are the native character and try to hold a plasma rifle, you become invisible and it does odd things to the game.

Best bet is to start a new game with the mods loaded, then just run through the temple to the end and save once you're wearing the vault suit. Then go back to Klint and stock up.

Note also that the Horrigan armor may not have artwork for use with different weapon types (i.e. a spear or pistol), so that's why you may get the "invisible" effect again. I also found that you can't run while in Horrigan's armor, which is pretty annoying IMHO...
 
That doesn't make sense. Sulik could use guns and he had the tribal sprite.
