Mike Patton should really go back to making normal music.

hmmm. that, or you could try opening your mind to the millions of brilliant things he's currently doing (and has been doing for years).

and wait...his first band was Mr. Bungle....that's normal music???

Believe me, I've tried. He is an amazing vocalist but I can't listen to any of that "brilliant" stuff he's been doing. It's interesting and unique but not listenable, to me personally.

By 'normal' I meant Faith No More. I'd rather he be in a solid band than focus on his experimental projects.

Mike Patton is generally cool. I really like the stuff in the clip.

Also, Faith no more is the shit.

Faith No More was the absolute worst part of his career. Mike Patton is a specialist in expiremental music styles, going back to normal music would be a step backwards for a brilliant mind like his.

Faith no More is far from being the worst part of his career. I actually think it was a briliant band. On the other hand, I can't listen stuff like Maldoror or his two solo albums on Tzadik for instance and I thought that Peeping Tom was enjoyable but not really interesting. Can't really understand why it did so well. Actually I did not like anything he released after Delirium Cordia. And yeah, MrBungle beats everything he has ever done afterwards in my opinion ( but maybe Director's Cut ). He is an amazing vocalist no matter what anyway.

Maybe, but FNM is what I enjoy the most out of his work. It's also where I discovered how awesome he was and the only reason I ever actually paid attention to him.

His best works in my opinion are the "California" album for Mr. Bungle, and "Directors Cut" for Fantomas. Angle Dust by FNM ranks in as a close third.... omg... I need to go listen to that again..

heheh, great choices.

though Disco Volante may always remain my favorite..."The Bends" is one of the greatest tracks Patton has ever created.

I swear to god, every project I hear about involving Patton inches my mind closer toward allowing the thought of Mike Patton .... nevermind

New, Mondo Cane. 60's Italian Pop done his style. Fallouty? Not really, Think of "New Reno" spaghetti western cRPG thing... IDK just watch

Yeah Mondo Cane sounds great. Can't wait for the album.
I wish he did something "musical" with voices similar to what he did on "The Darkness" and "I am Legend". I know there's already Fantomas and his two solo albums but I wish he used these awesome guttural voices in a very very dark project, but that's just me.

Mike patton is a versatile vocalist. My favorite works by him are Suspended Animation with fantomas and King buzzo( the melvins). Irony is a dead scene LP(Dillinger escape plan) California and Disco volante by Mr. Bungle. I actually enjoy some faith no more, midlife crises anyone?

How did I not notice this thread before? I love all Mr. Bungle's tracks and Mike Patton does an awesome job as their vocalist.

I hadnt heard of what Patton did after Mr. Bungle until now and I had no idea he was in Faith No More. I feel like an idiot for not making the connection sooner. I think I prefer Mr. Bungle to what i've heard from Faith No More by a lot.

I also defiantly prefer his music to most "normal" music.

You lie

Nope, im serious. I never payed much attention to Faith No More and the songs I have heard from FNM have singing quite different than from what Patton does on most Mr. Bungle songs. FNM seems so much more popish than Bungle so I wouldnt have tied the two together.
