Fatal Damage Mod [Fallout 1]

Sorrow

So Old I'm Losing Radiation Signs
Description:
Fatal Damage Mod changes weapon damages and armor stats to more realistic. Damage Values were calculated with help of 3G3 Guns! Guns! Guns! weapon design system.

Introduction:
I created the first version of this mod about 3 years ago, because I was tired with gunfights resembling boxing matches with random critical hits being main fight-ending factor. I found it unrealistic and iritating especially that characters gained hitpoints with levels which made fights even more random and tedious.
I used Cyberpunk 2020 damages as a basis (with 4x damage multiplier) and results were promising. Fights got faster and a bit more predictable which made tactics more important.
Next version used 3x multiplier to make reduce the unrealistic instant kill effect and modified stamped armor on creatures.
I released it in Poland and was liked by players.

About 3 months ago I obtained a 3G3 Guns! Guns! Guns! design guide and decided to make an update.
I used it as a guideline for damage of weapons to make it more realistic and a bit less deadly.

=========================

Some of the new weapon damages:
10mm Pistol: 11-33
Desert Eagle .44: 13-40
Assault Rifle: 18-55
Hunting Rifle: 21-65
Rocket Launcher: 215-650

========================
Screens:
Short range Minigun burst against armored targets
Assault Rifle burst against armored and unarmored targets
Grenades against multiple targets
Long range Assault Rifle burst against an armored target
Laser Pistol against an unarmored target

Good to see someone's been working on a Fallout1 mod... Say, is it compatible with the unofficial patches (e.g. v1.2 and v1.3.2 from TeamX)? I guess it is, but it doesn't hurt to ask.

I think that changing the damage caused will damage the game itself.

What's the deal of finding a weapon near the beggining capable of open the doors to the end of the game?

You can't open doors with weapons in Fallout 1.

I think it should be compatibile with any patch that doesn't modify/add new cre files and doesn't modify Caves.map, Hallded.map, Hotel.map and Vaultbur.map.

Don't get it if you were sarcastic or other word that admins might think as offensive.

I'm not saying doors as doors but boosting a weapon damage that you can find lets say in the first city makes the game a lot easier and will probably lead to the end faster.

Players with high sequence will always win because of the almost one hit one dead.

What do you mean?

No. You have to find better weapons to deal with better armor. Also, you have to find better armor to with opponents with better weapons.

No, because of armor, randomisation of damage, using cov... err... walls, superiority of numbers, accuracy and many other factors one stat can't give a certainity of victory.

Did you modify the "armor" of all critters then? Rats, Deathclaws, Ghouls, Mutants..?

...which means you've changed (adjusted might be a better term) their HtH attacking values and/or weapons, right?

I applaud this mod because I prefer more realism in my strategy gaming. I personally always felt my suspension of disbelief was harmed by shotgun blasts to the eyes not killing things.

I also don't believe there's anything wrong with items you find in the beginning of a game being powerful if the game is supposed to be realistic on some level. Somebody who is using an old bolt action hunting rifle can jack you up just as well as someone with an expensive polymer sniper rifle if he knows what he's doing.

I'm definitely going to try it out today, the reason more is the fact I didn't play Fallout1 for a long time...
