Experiment progress
Year 23, and "Prison 45", as my guards and I call it, has been a far deal more calm than I expected. 510 out of the 1500+ convicts we have currently have been murdered or killed by punishment.
The breeding rooms are going strong with the occasional miscarriage. We deal with this accordingly. The breeders are fed 3 large meals a day and kept healthy.
The infants are kept in the hospital/bottom floor until they reach age 7. At that age they either go up a floor and are accustomed to their cells, or they can apply for the guard squad. they get 3 slops a day and are treated as prisoners. The results are mixed. Around 8 or 9, Some die off, and others toughen up and form gangs when let out into the floor.
The teenagers, 12-17, go up to another floor. They get different cellmates and smaller cells. They lose the "stalls" that were in their child cells. There is less "floor time" and fights have stricter punishments. More of the weak die off. They are fed less slop each meal.
At 18+, they go to the last cell they will ever see. Usually only the strong make it up to this level. We treat this group as pure scum. They get the leftovers of slop each meal, and no floor time. Gangs are broken up, cell mates get shanked, it's all working very well.
Nobody has lived past 40 in those cells.
Now for the guards. After we "approve" a guard application, the child then trains for guard duty until age 18. They get the best meals, only under the breeders, and are given basic service rifles. Some die, but most survive.
56 prisoners have been given the death sentence. This is given when they cause too much commotion or the prisoners need.. a lesson. It works like a charm.
We plan to let the prisoners out as a staged "prison break" in 50 years. God help those on the outside.
