find/load text fonts error, everything is right but no go

First time out of the vault
I still get this error when trying to install patches for FO2.

I have everything readable, everything is referencing the right files and the CD is in the CD ROM. What else can I do.

XP Pro is my OS
 
Man this is chaffing me, I have done everything I can find to fix this that is recommended and its still not fixing it. I dont understand why this wont go away.

thats a copy and paste
 
I take it those files are actually there ? ie check the folders for those files...

And remove that art cache from the system section..
 
Yes the files are there, removed that line and still no go, everything is readable and the CD rom is in the drive, tried using compatibility mode on the patch program, all and it doesent work =(

Last time I played FO2 a the bugs hindered me from getting very far, I really want to get this patch installed =\
 
when you unzip it, you should still have the correct folders, ie just move those to the fallout2 dir..
 
and it will run as if it was patched normally? there is a data and master.dat FOLDER in the patch should those be moved in as well, in the fo2 directory they are just .dat files
 
erm Master.dat folder ? The patch only include:
  • fallout2.exe
  • patch00.dat
  • readme.txt
ie just copy those into the fallout 2 folder and start it up..

Which patch are you trying to install ?
 
yeah that one dident want to copy so I'm not going to stress it, but will the game play as patched when you manually copy them in?

There is no master.dat folder to put these files into, they're only going in the fallout 2 folder..

unzip, copy the content over and start up..

Unofficial patches ? worth trying out...
 
What ? where did you download that?
Like I said, there should only be three files included in the patch.. IF you chose one of the official patches
 
I downloaded the patch from a diffrent place and used that one I dident trust that patch since it had mystery folders
