I finished the main storyline quest, and....
...
No free roam? Was this known for a while now? Why, why, why! Why no free roam? I had a bunch of quests I did not finish.
Anyway, the game is exceptionally good, but the ending was done poorly. It does not bring a good enough closure, and it seems too "forced". I asked Fawkes (Rad-immune) to turn on the water purifier for me, but uh-oh, that would disrupt the storyline! He disagrees by saying that it is my "destiny" to do this.
So, for the players who beat the game, let's talk about the ending and any afterthoughts.
I managed to persuade the President to self-destruct after I left, and seeing it blow up was very emotional.
Oh, and what of Vault 101, your homeplace? And what happened to your girlfriend that was supposed to escape with you? I seriously thought the main quest would get me back into Vault 101. It's a pity that you never get to enter it again.
Ugh, the while ending was very anti-climax.
