There are no first aid or doctor skills, only 'medicine' which increases the effectiveness of stimpacks and a handful of other drugs.

You use stimpacks by going to the status screen and either clicking on the wounded limb, or hitting S.
 
Stimpacks seem to be much more plentiful/cheaper then in Fallout 2 (Except for later game Fallout 2 where stims are EVERYWHERE).
 
Thank GOD that was one of my biggest gripes with Fallout 2. It was stupid to have medicine AND doctor I mean they're the same thing. I'm glad they fixed it.

Medicine will make your stimpacks work better. I love it.
 
I still don't understand what "medicine" has to do with injecting a healing solution. I guess it could relate to your character knowing, medicly, exactly where to stick the needle. But come on, reducing the skill to making stimpaks more effective is just lazy, IMO. I miss being able to patch myself up through natural means, and having a stat raise an items effectiveness is not very creative.
