[FO 1] I can't destroy the military base

hello,

after killing the Lieutenant and breaking into the vat control room, i have stealed the security pass from a cathedral technician. When i try to hack the computer i grant access to the terminal but i have no choice...only "exit from the system"..I try to use the security key on the computer but nothing appens..also science(100%) does nothing..

any guess?
