I bought the game today at 11am in the morning and now it is 9:24pm... the entire time I've been trying to fix the game. When the game freezes, there is no error message, I can't get out with a CTRL+ALT+DEL, I can't move the mouse, sometimes the music plays on for a few more seconds, and I always have to press the reset button (I tried waiting for about 15 minutes once just for the heck of it... cause I was trying anything to make it work). I've updated all my drivers... I fiddled around with my BIOS... I ran Full HardDisk scans, Full Memory Scans, video diagnostics, EVERYTHING! I read through about 50 websites on preventing computer freezes... and now I'm coming to you guys for help.
I've never really had problems with games freezing up as much as FO:T. Some games would freeze up every couple of hours... but FO:T freezes up every single time (except one or two times) I'm in the character selection screen or even the main menu. It even froze during a multiplayer game that I ACTUALLY was able to get into without freezing. So, the majority of the freezes occur even before I can play the missions. The intro movies ran without a problem, so my sound is probably alright... I actually was able to play the missions twice... so my video card is probably alright too. The first time, I was able to play for about 15 minutes, the second (which was a multiplayer game) I was able to play for about 10 before it froze.
The game is on full installation (1.7 gigs)
My computer is a Athlon 750Mhz
128 RAM
Nvidia GeForce 256 AGP
Soundblaster Live 1024...
please help me out if you know about game freezing issues. Thanks.
