FO: Tactics on Windows XP

Processor: Core 2 Duo 1.54GHz
Memory: 2 GB
Video: GeForce 8600GTS 512 MB
DirectX: 9.0c
OS: Windows XP Pro SP2


I scratched my game beyond recognition, so I am using the images I backed up onto my home server to install the game via Daemon Tools.

1. Image mounted via DT.
2. Autoplay starts up.
3. Clicked 'Install Fallout Tactics'.
4. Splash screen disappears.
5. Wait 15 minutes or so.
6. InstallShield starts up, but not to the install screen.
7. Wait 15 more minutes.
8. Nothing happens. InstallShield and associated programs hang out doing nothing in Task Manager.

What do I do now?

I am not familiar with "Daemon Tools", but it's either no good or the backup is no good, because simply doing an install from a local drive isn't a problem. Btw, You need to run Setup.exe from FOT_1 if you are running install from a folder on a local drive.

Did you ever solve this problem? I have the same issue installing from the CDs on a computer with Windows Vista. Start the setup and I see nothing. But setup is in the task manager.
