just for those of you who dont understand tactics wasnt even meant to be anything like the origanal falout the dialogue option was removed for an obvious reason..... its not needed in the game play so why would they spend time making it tactics isnt realy roleplaying the only thing i would have liked to have seen would be the usage of tactics in the game such as ambushing and other misc. things

We do understand that. The problems we have with tactics is that it seriously screws with the Fallout (yes Fallout, it says so on the box) time line. For instance why do the BOS have the APA ? This was an Enclave armour and the Enclave shows up not sooner then Fallout 2. Tactics is situated between F1 and F2 so how in the hell would the BOS have gained access to this. Another thing : where is the combat armour ? What about the robots ? We already had 2 working bots, Mr handy and the brainbot. I am not saying that they could have used other type of bots in the game but it seems to me that they could have used these seeing as one of the people you meet, i believe it is in Great Bend, mentions the mr handy bots. Then you have the weapons. What happened to your trusty combat shotgun. I know you have several types in the game but they are all individual weapons not like the assault rifle or combat shotgun in F1 or F2. The only thing that was good about tactics is that it brought the wasteland back, sort off. It is not like F1 but defenately better then F2. I might even have forgotten a few things but i am sure others will tell you.

ok tactics isnt supposed to be like falout 1 or 2 they said that before they even released it .... for one thing the brother hood that existed in tactics was just remnints of the crashed airships and after falout 1 who knows what could have happened .. the enclave didnt have airships they were the vertibirds ..and another thing about the robots and guns does it realy matter the robots in this one are nto the same kind as falout and if you played the game you would know that... when they created this game im guessing they made it soo that it wouldnt have any effect on the plot of the original fallout ... and for the only thing that links it to fallout is the brother hood

Please, just let go of Tactics. Everybody already gave their opinions, discussions raged, flames burned... Enough already, please. We have FO3 to bash.

this board is for fo3 bashing for one thing adn another thing fo3 isnt even out yet so how the hell are you gonna bash it

For those with the mental capacity of a tree stump..

[font size=1" color="#FF0000]LAST EDITED ON May-17-01 AT 03:04PM (GMT)[p]Okay, smitty.. Here's why..

The game sucks because:

1.) It's linear. You can say "It's not like FO" all you want, that doesn't change the fact that linear game play sucks. Play it once, you're done. There won't be anything new the second time through. In fact, you'll have to play it through the exact same way. Joy!

2.) As stated earlier, it fucks with the Fallout time line. The BOS guy(Matt) in Fallout 2 says the BOS doesn't have a means of flight. Yet they have blimps in FOT. Why do Deathclaws talk? The Enclave made the only talking Deathclaws, and then turned around and slaughtered them at Vault13. That's 40 years AFTER Fallout Tactics.

3.) The missions are stupid. Consider Mission 4 where you have to escort a hummer, which is an off road vehicle, through a town filled with raiders and hostile civilians. Now, once again, the hummer is an off road vehicle.. If the town is a problem, they can go AROUND it instead because the hummer is an off road vehicle. Did I mention the fact a hummer is an off road vehicle?

4.) Interplay didn't care enough to make FOT a good game. The fact you think a 12 month title is a quality one reflects greatly on your sense of worth.

5.) Why the hell is the metal armor modelled after fantasy platemail? If there wasn't so much metal and chains on that Fallout Tactics armor, like the traditional Fallout metal armor, perhaps you could actually SNEAK in the damned thing.

6.) The random encounters are just really stupid. At least Fallout 2 made sure that there were two different sides in the "versus" REs.. "Beastlords vs. Beastlords" anyone?

7.) Beastlords. Do I have to mention that people who control animals with their minds and live in a dungeon under a graveyard have no place in Fallout? That's a Fantasy motiff.

8.) The ending is piss poor. Yay, let's shoot some defenseless brains!

9.) The weapons were idiotic. Why the hell are European WW2 weapons common in the U.S. 250 years after WW2 ended, and 120 years after the Great War(that's when the nuclear bombs were dropped, BTW)? Why aren't the weapons that were common at the time of the Great War in the game?

10.) Why can't supermutants wield plasma rifles and laser rifles? They could in Fallout and Fallout 2. In fact, that's what most of them had.

11.) How come you can't see cities until the BOS tells you they exist? Do entire cities have really high sneak skills?

12.) The Quartermaster never repenishes ammo. The BOS can make custom power armor, why can't they make ammo?

13.) Why do they use Scribes to scout? Scribes are researchers and mechanics, not warriors.

14.) Where are the centaurs and floaters? They're just as much a part of the Master's Army as SuperMutants. It makes me wonder if there's a huge gathering of centaurs on the West side of the Rockies sitting around saying, "They'll come back for us. They wouldn't leave us here."

15.) Discontinuity within the game itself. How come the description of the Super Micro Sledge says the BOS developed it, yet you find it in a "sealed" Fusion Battery storage facility? After all, the thing's been sealed since the Great War. Also, for a Fusion Battery storage facility, I find it odd that there's only four batteries there and the batteries are in really stupid places, like desk drawers.

I could keep going, if you'd like since FOT is loaded with stupid things.

RE: For those with the mental capacity of a tree stump..

[font size=1" color="#FF0000]LAST EDITED ON May-17-01 AT 07:58PM (GMT)[p]And another thing. How come super mutants can hit you for full damage with a burst weapon even if they are far, far away. At one time i could not hit a mutant with a sniper rifle and i had a perception of 10 and the guy ripped my char. apart with a burst weapon. The thing was he hit only me and not any of the squad members who where standing right beside me.
And this line of sight thing is a joke aswell. Sometimes you can see people standing behind a wall when they are clearly out of your line of sight and sometimes you can not see dead bodies even if you are standing pretty close to them and nothing is obstructing your view. And how in the hell can you see a desk that is two rooms away and behind a wall. Ugh, i'm going to stop, my head hurts.
