Bags and Backpack's what do they do?

Its been ages since i played this game I try to let my mind wipe clear so i can replay it, since i love this game. Anyways Backpacks and bags i can open it and put stuff in but does it actually benefit to use them?

Stay clear of them. They do seperate your inventory, but they just weigh you down more and some items can get lost (a bug). And try not to put a bag in a bag etc. That can mess thing up a bit
