FO1 can't enter vats room

Searched for this for a while and was unable to find an answer.

I've killed the master and I've killed everything in the military base, but I can't enter the vats control room. I used Mr. Handy to "blow up" the forcefield, but it is still there. I can't enter the room with all the CoC people and the computers. And therefore, can not blow up the base. Any ideas?

IIRC, repair skill on the forcefield generator can do the trick. It was a long time tho, not sure about it.
Reload earlier save?

Yeah I tried using the repair skill on it and it says This cannot be repaired or is already functioning normally. Also, I don't have any saves I can go back to since I had this problem. I thought it might have been because I hadn't killed the master, so I went to do that and used up all the saves before this point.

Is the forcefield red or yellow ? The yellow one cannot be passed, while the red one deliver damage, but doesn't prevent you to pass it.

It's a yellow one.
