FO1 Crash

First time out of the vault
Hello NMA,

Well I have that dwwin.exe crash,however nothing helped. Everything begun from Military Base LVL2. When I took the elevator down there,saved game and I was tired of playing,so I quit the game. Other day,when I tried to load the game,it crashed. I pressed ctrl-alt-del and saw the dwwin.exe error. Restart/reinstall didn't help. So as error reporting disabling. In addition,I searched this forum,searching for some posts,how to fix it. None of them helped.

I use patched original version of Fallout on
2.8+ Athlon XP
1024 DDR
GeForce 6600GT
XP SP2

Game installed with no problems,and ran properly until that Military Base LVL2..

I'm really sorry,if I missed the solution to this problem somehow in this forum,so don't beat me up with sticks,eh ? ;)

Any help is appreciated.
 
Define 'nothing worked'.

For fuck's sake, man, we can't read minds here. It could be about a dozen things, most probably though, it's a wrong map. So, delete the .sav file from your save and re-enter the map.
 
"Nothing worked" would stand for dwwin.exe disablement,error reporting disablement,all the stuff Odin has mentioned in the Sticky under the XP Problems section. However,Sanders,it may be the map problem,but I can't reenter it,becouse I've saved in one slot. Also,I've completed Fallouts numberous times on this pc and the same OS,so most probably it is the map problem.

So how should I get the sav now ? Or should I just replay the game again ? ;)
 
Back up the entire save folder. Take out the .sav file pertaining to the Military Base, replace it with a .map file. See what happens.
 
I thought you'd searched?

Extract it from the master.dat file.
