ending

what is the ending of Fallout? After I have killed Master and the countdown begins, I reach the main floor of the cathedral and make it to the door with 10 seconds left to spare. But when I attempt to open the door so I can head toward the exit grid, the screen flashes to the screen where the Cathedral blows up and the game throws me back into main menu. Obviously I died, but I is it because I didn't have enough time? Or is it because of a glitch?

I think it's because you didn't get out soon enough. After the cathedral explodes (assuming you took care of the military base) the game should show you a couple of slides and you'll hear a narrator tell you what happened to the various plces you visited. I hope you have an earlier save cause it would be a shame to miss the ending.

RE: ending

What you ALSO will see is that the Overseer will say you saved the world. But you will exiled by him. After he told you all that he walks back to the vaultdoor and then you will automaticly shoot him.

That will only happen if you're playing an evil character or if you have the bloody mess trait.

RE: ending

I played a good character and I still automatically gibbed the bastard child of Satan known as the Overseer...man was that a moment or what??????

Judas "because killing the Overseer once is not enough" Iscariot

Are you sure you didn't have an evil karmic trait like beserker or something?

RE: ending

This is what Ive found out:
You shoot at the Overseer if:
1.Your Karma is negative
2.You are childkiller
3.You are berserker

RE: ending

My player has got a Bloody Mess trait. But what happens if your character is OK?

RE: ending

>HEY MX, WHY SHOULD I NOT

Maybe because you're spoiling the end to someone who hasn't finished the game properly yet? Think man!

RE: ending

No evil Karmic Traits...I did have the Bloody Mess trait...personally I think killing the Overseer is part of the story ...If I were exiled for my heroic actions I would kill him too!!

Actually I've finished the game many times without killing the overseer. It only happened to me when I played a character that was evil or had the bloody mess trait.

RE: ending

But what I also asked: What happens when your character is OK?

*end spoils*

>But what I also asked: What

When you play a good character with no bloody mess trait you just get banished and you accept it. No real difference in the ending except the that bastard lives a while longer.

There is a perk called "mutate!".
Use it if you want to remove bloody mess.
Why dont you experimentate a bit?
Whats the fun about knowing the end before finishing the game?
