So I'm using the 1.2 semi-official patch which I got from TeamX's website. I'm not sure if thats the problem, but whenever I go to Kain in the Hub, I can talk to him the first time as usual about a job and such, he takes me down to Decker and I talk with him, getting the details and accepting the job to kill Hightower. However, when I go back up and try to get my initial pay of $500, he says, 'You had your chance, now beat it!' and if I pursue the matter he attacks me. Apparently he doesn't realize that I accepted the job and did not decline it. Whether I kill Hightower or not he still won't talk to me and will attack if conversation is initiated three times. I've tried multiple things, restarting Fallout, reloading the game, reloading from a previous save, taking different conversation paths, and nothing works. What can I do?
Edit: Now that I've tried loading an even earlier save (Prior to killing the Friendly Loaning Company (or whatever) and the gang who kidnapped the Brotherhood initiate, as well as before paying the Water Merchants to transport water to the vault) everything seems to work fine. Is this affected by killing the FLC? Or perhaps the gang? Is that intentional, or do I just have a bad save?
EditEdit: It appears that everything is fine, and that it's not a bug but that it's supposed to happen. If you kill the FLC, Decker/Kain get mad at you (Why does that remind me of Deckard Kain from Diablo?), and vice versa, killing Decker gets FLC mad at you.
