New guide, preview version

A preliminary version of my Nearly Ultimate Fallout Guide can be found at:

http://user.tninet.se/~jyg699a/fallout.html

I.e. the same as the F2 guide but remove the "2". Comments and opinions are welcome. My email can be found in the guide, or just post it here. Thanks!

Hej Per!

Creating a nearly ultimate guide for FO1 I see?

Quiet good but ONamjoshi version still seems a bit better. I can post you some hints which will help your work.

Just credit my name this time when you add some of my hints

Dear Frank-

Where can you find the Onamjoshi walk through?

RE: New guide, preview version

Well after reading Pers guide more clearly it seems more discripted. However there are still some few things that just are included in Onamjoshi walkthrough on http://www.gamefaqs.com

But it is mostly just some better area discription (vault 15 f.e.)

Also his walkthrough includes a quest that you can get from Jane after the Master is dead (which I couldn't find in Pers walkt.)

But Pers version is just in its early stage and already as good (proporly better) as Onamjoshi final version.

Keep up the good work

I've read it. I strongly doubt there's something important that I've missed, since I've almost literally gone through all the scripts in the game.

There is no such quest. Namjoshi just writes that she behaves a little differently (that she's free of the Master's influence, which I actually think is incorrect; at least there's no significant dialogue to that effect in her text file), and I didn't find it worth noting.

Yup checked it.

Heh, looked at the old version of his walkthrough. In that it included a note that sad that there was a quest from Jane after killing the Master. Doubt he hadn't tried it.

Well I thought that I could cheer theese tricks.

1) Get Tandi Barter head.

First, you need a bag or bagpack for this (if you're lucky you might encounter a bag with stuff in it near Vault 15. Else the closest one is in Junktown).

Now when you are at the Raiders Camp for freeing Tandi, ask Garl to barter for her realese. In the barter meny, buy her head (you can steal your stuff back afterward) and put it in the bag.

When ending the dialog Garl wont attack (and you can speak with him again!) and also Tandi's barter head will remain. But the incaged Tandi isn't free yet. For freeing her you can again talk to Garl and either way barter, fight or speak her out of her cage. The dialog will be abit different. You can also keep on going with the Tandi trick and get unlimted numbers of them and then sell them for heigh prices.

This works also with the small, medium and large healing you can get from Razlo.

The Tandi head weights 10 pounds and looks very strange when throwing it on the ground (cause it hasn't got any ground picture).

2) Keep Water chip

For keeping the water chip simply press the ins button when the overseer ask you for the chip.

Afterward you will be at the computer, gain the 7000 exp., loose the time limit and get the new quests from the Overseer and keep the chip!

Neat. :)

I've actually kept the chip without doing anything unusual. The Ins button, is that like pressing 0?

Did you keep the chip by putting it into a bag while talking to the overseer?

EDIT:
And thanks for giving my inventory some new items. Are there also small and large healings that you can buy from Razlo or just medium?

I’m also wondering if the mysterious chess play with ZAX has been cleared (can win or not).

Nope, just lying in my inventory.

He gets a different item depending on how hurt you are when you talk to him. I suppose this is just to fix the price.

My guess right now is that you can't. There was something in the Fallout Bible about it, but the description there of what was necessary to win doesn't match with the actual script. If anyone knows enough about Fallout coding to say how it's decided if you get a critical success on a stat check it would probably help a bit.
