[FO1] NPC mod question

I hope one of the more tech-savvy folks can help me, or maybe even one of the TeamX modders, if they're still around.

Is it possible to only install the part of the mod that lets you give orders to dogmeat? If so, how?

I'm pretty puristic about modding Fallout, so I don't really want the NPC upgrades, but that one component would be infinitely useful.

Yes, it's possible. You need 2 files from the NPC-Mod archive: junkdog.int and junkdog.msg. Copy junkdog.int into DATA\SCRIPTS folder and junkdog.msg into DATA\TEXT\ENGLISH\DIALOG folder in your Fallout directory. You'll have to start a new game or use saved one before you entered Junktown Casino.

Thanks a lot. That's actually what I tried on my own earlier, but I already had Dogmeat in my party at that point. But it makes sense now why it didn't work.
