[FO1] some niggles......

some niggles......

Dug out my FO coz finished and enjoyed FO2......some minor irritations....

1. Can you improve the NPC armour ? i.e want to give Ian some better armour coz got loads spare.....but unlike FO2 there is no screen to custom weapon used / armour worn / attitude etc etc ?

2. Don't know why but having trouble picking up things like shotguns and rifles from corpses . Have to wait until body has disappeared before I can pick them up ?

3. Can u check your NPC's HP anyhow ? Do they get better as your character improves levels as per FO2 ? I have Ian , Tycho and Dogmeat at mom but am finding they die rather easily .............esp fight against the guy who runs the Maltese falcon

1. No, you can't give them better armor

2. Bug time i guess

3. You can check you NPC's hit points if you have the awarness perk. Put your mouse pointer over them and select the binoculars.
They don't get better like in FO2.

Before fighting Decker (guy from Maltese falcon) when you first talk about the job he has for you barter for all his weapons and stims. Also you might wont to go to Jake's first and get a combat shotgun if you don't have one already. And in the actual fight concentrate fire power on Decker and Kane. Once they die the others surrender and wont fight back anymore and you can pick them of easy.

thanks JR ...... the picking up rifles and shotguns seems to extend to buying them too . It just won't let me drag them to the required area and is becoming very annoying . Means I am limited to what weapons i can use . I have installed the patch too.........................

Let's see. I can come up with a few possible sollutions or explanations for this. It may be just a bug. Try uninstalling and do a full reinstall. Second. It may just be that you do not have the weapon in the best possition. Maybe you need to drag it further. Third. Maybe your mouse is to sensitive. It sometimes happens to me that when i left click and drag something (not only weapons) to another spot it falls back to where it was orriginally. Go to the preference section and set the mouse sensitivity lower. Otherwise i am as stumped as you are. Keep us posted on the progress.

got it sorted now..............merely kept dragging across until it took hold . Perhaps I should be more patient !!! Cheers people
