EDIT: D'OH! I just had to talk to Lars to finish the quest 
So, I started playing Fallout (1.2) from the beginning again, and after a while I got to Junktown. I talk to Killian, agree on the Gizmo thing, go to Gizmo and offer to kill Killian (taping everything and planting a bug in the cabinet), go back to Killian and help him kill Gizmo. I defeat Gizmo, end combat, and then walk back to the Casino to fetch his Mauser. Strangely, I noticed Ian has disappeared, and when I walk back on the exit grid south of the casino the screen goes all weird (I can "draw" pieces of the map with my mouse).
So I exit the game and reload my savegame. I'm not sure exactly when I saved, but strangely, I can't finish the quest now! I already have the shotgun in my inventory (as a reward), Kenji's blood is on the floor, but when I talk to Killian he replies as if he just met me (I get the standard set of questions). Now, oddly, Gizmo is still in his office, and the casino's populated again! Also, the bug is still in the cabinet. When I talk to Gizmo he asks me if I killed Killian yet, and I have only two options. The tape recorder is gone from my inventory , too.
Any chance to get back on track? This is the only savegame I have and I'd hate to start over...
