Anyone ever try this.....

Has anyone ever tried to arm your village via an inventory editor so that when the enclave comes they can put up some better resistance?????? or even leave party members at the bridge so they can fight....i wonder if they'd be dead when you returned....just wondering if any of this is possible.

I think we can say for certain this would not change anything. It's like thinking, "if you got the Dragon down to 1 HP using Super Stimpaks maybe you could tell Lo Pan he can now take him down easily". ;) For instance, I tried putting $1000 in Renesco's inventory before asking him for Salvatore's tribute. He still says he doesn't have the money because the dialogue is scripted that way.

If you left party members by the bridge they'd be gone forever afterwards, since the game switches to a new bridge map. I managed to lose the car in this way, but thankfully while I was fooling around doing "research" and not while playing regularly.

And another one...

Well, the way I see it, none of that actually happens in the game... A script just changes the map file into the one with the destroyed bridge and dying Hakunin. I don't think there's even a zone exit grid on that map, much less any ruins of the tents or bodies. It's not the same map.

This I'm not sure of, on the other hand: If you slaughter your entire village, is it accounted for in the Hakunin-visions? What's at the Enclave detention block if you kill off your tribe? (My guess would be that this option has been ignored for the sake of the story - the only reason the player is going to the enclave to begin with is to save the tribe - but t'was just an idea that the above post gave me. I guess this is essentially the same thing, but it would be a bit clumsy to find Hakunin at the bridge alive. "What are you doing breathing? I thought I showed you the path already gawddamnit..." ;-))

I read somewhere that if you kill you tribesmen then you loose the game as soon as you leave the village. Haven't tried it though.

I have, and you do.

It's possible to finish the game without getting a single Hakunin dream sequence, though. I wonder if you'd then be able to return to Arroyo and find either the village as it is at the beginning of the game, or Hakunin dying, even after you got the happy end stuff in the end sequence. Or maybe that only tells about the years to come. Ho hum.
