[FO2] Assasinating Mr.Bishop

Assasinating Mr.Bishop

I'd post this on the tech board cept no one responds there except once a month it seems. Every time I kill Bishop, either by "fixing" his safe, planting dynomite on him, or just plain shooting him, the game will either shut down, or seemingly work ok until i try to zone or save and then shut down. Also if i try to save after killing him the spot i save in becomes unable to load. Game is patched, I used to be able to do it awhile ago, and it doesn't seem to be just one save game as I restarteed a game and quickly went to Reno just to see if it was that particular game. Anyone know if this is a bug, or just somethingwrong with the files and is there any way to fix it.
 
When I try to rig his safe nothing seems to happen. he doesn't seem to use his safe after I leave and when I go back (after doing his wife) I have to rig the safe again. Is this a glitch or broken quest or what?
 
1. Do his wife.
2. Learn how to rig the safe.
3. Rig the safe.
4. Leave.
5. Profit.
 
I did rig the safe. I clearly read something like, you have sucessfully changed the combination...heh heh heh.

but he doesn't die

I even waited a day but bishop was still alive and well.
