Banned from Vault City

The first citizen has banned me from the city.

Is there any way to get back inside the gates without going to an earlier save?

RE: Banned from Vault City

Not unless you beat the Enclave.

Dear Per-

Isn't there another way, perhaps if you blackmail the VC guards? Or kill the raiders and bring back the necessary info?

If you get citizenship, can they take it away from you?

I checked the script for the guard who lets you into the inner city and there's no way to get through there (unless you finish the game, in which case that takes precedence). I could check Wallace too, but I doubt there is something - no obvious dialogue to that effect, anyway.

I suppose one could hit 3 or 4 on the town map to get in. I don't know exactly what would happen then; maybe you're attacked by the guards, or maybe they just treat you like a non-citizen.

Yep, you lose your citizenship when you get banned.

RE: Banned from Vault City

In the biulding outside of the VC gates there are two people, Wallace and another guy. if you talk to the other gun you can get fake citizenship papers. He offers them for $200, but you can talk him down to $150. Then you can black mail his into giving you $300 for your silence. You can travel VC at all times and you are $150 richer.

Even if you've been banned?

RE: Banned from Vault City

Well, whenever I get banned (witch happens pretty often, damn, Lynette is really just an ignorant bitch=) I just load the game. If you've saved afterwards, then get the false papers, although I don't know if it'll work.

RE: Banned from Vault City

The false papers are a great way to get into the city, bear in mind that blackmailing Skeev will harm your karma. However, once in the city you can't get into the vault, the guards won't let you in, they don't know you're really a citizen, and Lynette gets real pissed if you try to tell her you're a citizen. However, they let you get in better than a day pass, you can buy stuff, and besides, you're $150 richer.

Kicked out of Vault City forever?

I tried to lie my way into saying I lost my guest pass to one of the guards, twice, and then I quickly realized that I am banned forever from Vault City! And not before I overwrote the game by accident..

Is there some good deed I can do to earn back my favor and be allowed back in? None of the NPCs want to even talk to me!

This problem was most probably mentioned before on this forum and was definetely mentioned in Per's guide, but what the hell.
The only interesting quest related to VC you'll miss this way is the Gecko reactor problem. However, if you really feel like it and if you've got enough experience, you can do what many F2 players did after they got kicked out of VC: take a gun and just go on a rampage. Sure, you'll probably get the bounty hunters on your back and a Childkiller perk, but it's all worth it just to see that bitch Lynette dropping on the floor under a rain of lead.

Hello,

Search the forum for "vault city banned" (All terms) for threads on that...

Merged.

The Fallout 2 Cracker utility can be used to change this, though I couldn't tell you at the moment exactly which variable and value (should be something like VAULT_CITY_CITIZEN and CITIZEN_NONE, but look it up in the scripts that come with the official mapper). That is if you can't wait until next game to see what's in there.

That's brilliant! I'm going to try that immediately.

Damn.. the fallout cracker utility won't let me open my saved games. Any help bud?

Are you playing version 1.02? You haven't by any chance installed any mod that changes the number of variables or items? Also:

Nope, I am sorry... I don't have any of that stuff. But I do have the 1.02 patch.
