[FO2] best weapon?

best weapon?

I was wondering what the best weapon is in the game? i am using bozar right now and i was wondering if there is better waepon than that

What the best weapon is for you depends largely on skill. If we're talking big guns the Bozar and the Vindicator are definitely best. The Vindicator does more damage as the Bozar, but it has a wider spread, so it's not as useful when there's more distance between you and your unfortunate victims. The best all around gun in the game however is the gauss rifle. With this gun and a decent small guns skill you can take out anyone and anything.

I think the best weapons in FO2 is the energy waepons. The vindicator is very expensive, but the pulse rifle is free, and its ammo is not as rare as gauss ammo. It can shoot 10 or 12 shots before it needs reloading, and it does 54-78 damage, and I think it costs 1 less AP since it shoots single shots not burst like Vindicator, Minigun and flamer.

I disagree with you here. I mean, in theory energy weapons are the most powerful. But most creatures you encounter are very resistant to energy damage (not to speak about normal armors). That's why I think that gauss weapons are the best in the game. And no, their ammo is not that rare. You can buy enough at the NCR's merchant. Plus if you have on your other slot a weapon like the bozar (.223 ammo surely the most common) you won't have any problem using it.

I got two comments on that. First of all, the vindicator minigun is also free. You can get it from the Enclave.

Second of all, the pulse rifle has an INSANE skill requirement. With PE 9 and energy weapons skill at around 170%, it's still very hard to hit a creature to the eyes. (and with lower skills it's hard to hit much anything with it)

I have PE 7 and 150% in energy weapons, but I can't aim in eyes because of the fast shot trait. I have bonus ROF too, and 9 APs, so I shoot 3 shots every turn, and they are devasting! and many creatures have resitance to energy, but the main boss (frank) has not. Anyway I think they have resistance to bullets too. (maybe not gauss, its good too)

Best gun combo (that i've dealt with) is the Bozar+Gauss rifle...deadly short/long range combo

hehe, I have 24% in big guns, so that combination doesn't work for me. I use pulse rifle+ pistol, gauss at exstremly long range.

Actually, the plasma and pulse weapons are just as good against armour as normal weapons when you look at the values...

It's the laser weapons that are the bad energy weapons (pistol, rifle, solar scorcher, gatling laser).
