[FO2] Can't finish NCR -> Redding Brahmin drive - HELP!

I'm running FO2 on Windows XP with official patch 1.02d. So I accepted the mission for the Brahmin drive and have gone on two legs of it, but every time I try to go on to the third leg, Hakunin's stupid vision interrupts me and leaves me at the main map, unable to continue. If I rest at the encounter area and receive the vision, I still lose the caravan as soon as I go to the exit grid, and should I go to Redding, there is nothing to be found. Is there no way around this rather than to load a save way back, before accepting the drive, waiting for the vision, and THEN going on the drive? That would be a real pain, but I suppose it may be my only choice if I want those chips and P90s.


Edit: Now it appears that if I rest AT ALL at the encounter area, I will not be able to continue. In fact as of now there seem to be no circumstances in which I can continue the drive except by loading a previous save. [Thank god for multiple saves]

Please help!

It's quite buggy, and as you note I doubt it has anything to do with the vision. Make a save just before accepting the quest and don't save over it until you have the payment in your hand.

Okay then. Just restarted and when I decide to start it up (Decided to become a bit stronger first) I'll be sure to save often. I wish I hadn't wasted a few hours on it already though...
