cassidy's bad heart

Recently while "hunting" near Navarro, Cassidy had a heart attack. While fighting off fire geckos in a cave, one of the little silver bastards gone it quick and gave Cassidy quite a gash. He took 75 or so points of damaged, said something like "H*ck" and then fell over. Just prior to this engagement he was at 128 points.

Has anyone else gotten this? I know the heart pills are not supposed to do anything, but is there any fix?

This probably hasn't anything to do with his heart condition. Sometimes you can get an instant death critical. This means that you don't do as much damage to your opponent then his total number of HP but he still dies. Mostly, hits to the eyes and head give you these criticals and of course, a very high luck roll. When that goes for you against enemies, it also goes for them against your squad.

Yes, I have seen this happen, but I think that this is a unique Cassidy feature, much like Apathetic Vic. The thing is that the damages were not complete, but only roughly 70% of his hit points. Also the language was interesting. He had done something similar before, usually complaining about his heart before collapse.

Has anyone else seen this?

I killed mean centaurs with one hit for about 90 HP's, so when that is possible, it's probably also possible for them to hit you or one of your NPC's and instantly kill them. Therefor i doubt if it has anything to do with his heart condition, although the proframmers might have put it in the game that way. If Cassedy gets hit and has an instant death, then the text appearing might be done so that it looks like it's his heart.

i criticaled something for 0 dmg and killed it a couple times, happens mostly when i used my bare hands =]

I can't recall a critter ever getting an instant kill critical on me or my NPC:s (except when I shoot my own NPC:s, of course). I had assumed that the programmers wisely wouldn't let this happen. Or maybe that most or all critters can't get that high on the critical result table.

Yeah, I never got it until I had a character with the "Better Criticals" perk... Now, I'm getting it all the time. Woo!

i hit an Enclave soldier for 10 points and he died, was pretty funny since he ran up to me for H2H...silly him

For you evil people, here's some Fallout Doctor advice. Metamephanes (jet) is very bad for your cardiovascular health. Hey, he refused to join me because I was a slaver!
