Fallout2 patch causes illegal operation on comp!

After downloading and installing the patch(it installed itself correctly) i then used the saved game converter on my files. It converted them but when i went to load my game it said This program has preformed an illegal operation and will be shut down. I made a backup of my main game beforehand so i tryed to use that. It still didn't work. I then reinstalled fallout2 and reconverted my save game to the old version. still got the message. if worse comes to worse i'll have to restart a new game but that game i have it a few years old and kinda far in (gathering piecees for the tanker). If anyone can help i would appreciate it.

RE: Fallout2 patch causes illegal operation on comp!

More of a computer problem than a gameplay help. Doesn't this go in Tech support? Well, computers do this sometimes. Norton helps clear out viruses. Scan disk is useful to clean a harddrive before defragmenting. Be sure to get the Norton patch too, incase this is a serious virus like nimda or sircam (two viruses I experienced which made my computer barely runable) It's best to catch it now before it gets worse.

Also get a new computer.
