Gecko & Vault City - *SPOILER ALERT*

*Again, spoiler alert*

Does anyone know how to actually SOLVE all the problems between VC and Gecko?

I fixed Gecko's reactor, optimized it, gave the economic data to McClure, and convinced him peace was the best method to serve both parties.

However, I have two hangups:

1.) If I tell Harold (reactor manager, talking head from Fallout I) that I gave the data to VC, he tells me I have doomed the town. He is the only person who tells me I did a bad thing, everybody else thinks I can just walk on water, both in Gecko and VC.

But if I don't give the data to VC, wouldn't that be even WORSE? Gecko is gone without support from the Vault.

2.) At the end of the game, it tells me that VC INVADES Gecko?! I really thought I had managed to patch up their relations and give them a solid working treaty. Apparently not?

Is there anything I can do save the ghouls? (They're good nice folk)

ehh....Well i too once had this problem. After much consideration and accute statics along with some quick math...i decided to go to vault city, do any quests worth doing, walk up behind Lynette, and kick her in the groin. Everybody wins.

No seriously, does anyone know what can be done? Is it just a "broken quest" or did I miss something?

REALLY?!

Huh! Why is that? Does Vault City leave the place alone?

(I also assume I shouldn't drop off the economic data, huh?)

Do not give the economic data to McClure. You can optomize the reactor as long as nobody knows you did it, they will not invade Gecko. So do not go and ask McClure if you can use the computer in the vault for the optomization date it needs. You become a citizen for just fixing Gecko's plant and then you have free acces to the vault. Just go in there and use the central computer. And finally do not do any of Starks missions. He asks you to scout the terrain around Gecko. Then VC has all the data they need to invade Gecko if they become aware of the power surplus there.
