Despite playing the game about 9 times, that's probably the only encounter I haven't had yet and it's annoying. Would I be right in thinking some special encounters are far more common than others? I always get the Bridge one, Unwashed Villagers, Knights etc, but not the Solar one. Still, what's a Solar Scorcher compared to a Bozar or Guass Rifle anyway.

Solar Scorcher has shorter range, no reload cost (can only be reloaded during the day), low ap cost to shoot, less damaging. There are other more powerful energy weapons. It's more of a collector's item than a useful weapon, although it is quite handy for shooting wild dogs and mutant rats

It's also very useful for getting more money. If you sell it during the day it's worth a lot of money and you can buy it back cheap at night.

Interesting. Didn't know that. Still, I just love the fact that (with the right perks and traits) you can shoot it six times in one turn and never have to reload.
