[FO2] How do I get Lynette to send me to Westin?

How do I get Lynette to send me to Westin?

I read somewhere that if you have the holodisc from Bishop's safe, Lynette will send you off to see Westin. Is that true, and do you have to say or do anything?

I saw Westin already and guarded his cattle, then I stole the holdisc from Bishops safe and took his assignment to kill Westin. After that I went to Lynette and because I had the holodisc I could tell her about Moore being a spy for NCR. But nothing else.

I may be wrong, but doesn't the Westin part have something to do with the book in the safe in the raiders base? Or whatever other contents we in there

I think it works like this-
You do the raider quest from VC to finish off the raiders. In the raiders safe you find the books that say Raiders are being paid off. Then bring the info back to Lynette and I think she sends you to visit Westin. Not sure but you may have to steal Bishop's safe first.

I do know that you can do the sequence, deliver the disk or message from Lynette to Westin, get Westin to send you back to Lynette with the disks and then, before you leave, whack Westin.

What is troublesome is that you have to be careful with Bishop. I mentioned, "what's the deal with Bishop and the raiders" to Bishops wife. Later, after getting "made man" from Bishop then having sex with his wife again (because who really likes Bishop anyway?) Bishop asked me about the "raiders" and then the shooting started.

Thank you, I will try that next time. Now I already accepted the assignment of Bishop to kill Westin. And I also showed the disc from Bishop's safe to Lynette, and informed that Moore was a spy for NCR.
After wiping out the raiders and showing the notebook to Lynette, she did give me 1000 XP for wiping out the raiders and another 1000 XP for showing the notebook. But she didn't send me off to see Westin:(. Maybe because I exposed Moore? maybe because I took the assignment to kill Westin? Maybe even because I was already at Westin's to protect the Brahmins?

The problem is that I HATE to have unfinished quests. So I cannot accept the assignment of Westin to kill Bishop, because that would leave the quest from Bishop to kill Westin undone. And I want to become made man for all the four gangs in Reno this time...

Dear Tandier-

I think there is something in Per's guide on this. It comes down to sequence. I think it works like this-
first you wipe out the raiders and get the ledger, go see Lynette
second rob Bishop's safe for the disks- give them to Lynette - I think this will get you the quest to go visit Westin.
When you see Westin you get the quest to go back to Lynnete, but then you can finish off Bishop's quest to kill Westin. Get the quest to give Westin's disk to Lynnette, then kill off Westin.
This will get you a nice gun from VC.

The problem with this is that it might lead to an ending you may not want. Alternatively, you really can't do Westin's quest to kill Bishop.

Finally if you become a made man with Wrights (open the Sierra Army depot) I think this may lead to a negative ending for New Reno. I am at the point of indecision whether to finish off the quest and be "made man" for Wrights (the rest of the families have met their demise) or leave the SAD quest undone and thus maybe a better ending for New Reno.

Welsh you are right...I studied Per's walkthrough, and there you are only supposed to meet Westin after Lynette sends you to see him. But I had already met him to solve the Brahmin problem!!

So I will start all over, I didn''t follow Per''s advise to save often and when 10 slots are full rename them and save then somewhere else.

I hope you will also try this and postpone the return to Wright to the very end, good luck!

I will try so that all basic stats will be 10 in the end except endurence, i will never do anything that makes me loose Karma, and i want to do as many quests as possible...

Maybe when you are very GOOD I can convert the Raiders...:)

As long as you don't actually *kill* Westin I don't think there should be a problem. Simply meeting him and doing the brahmin quest changes nothing.

Ok, I am doing right now the raider quest. First I raided Bishop's safe and got the disk and the map. I read the map and learned the base location, I at this time had not yet seen Westin. I went to the base, leaving my car in Broken hills for bug reasons, and went down the well. Fighting immediately breaks out, where I kill all the raiders. I gather the three tags and open the safe. I remove the ledger. I now go to Vault City. Save before speaking the Lynnette. The first time I talked to her I spilled all in one conversation, and didn't get sent. I think the trick is you can't just tell her Bishop was behind the raiders, you have to bring up the fact that Bishop and NCR are in it together. I reloaded and talked to her again. This time around after showing her the ledger, I revealed Thomas Moore and the NCR conspiracy. She then sent me to Westin and promised a reward. In NCR I have just killed Westin for Bishop after giving him the info from Lynnette. That is where I am now.
