I have serious problem getting into Westin

I've played the game twice, and I can't get into the forcefield to westin, the guard kept asking me what's my business and my conversation options were never more than "I'm here to chat". I've talked to everybody in NCR, including the sheriff, Tandi, that short guy in rancher house. Have I missed something?

Also, I've been trying to access the offical fallout message boards, but I kept getting the messages that the page was not found. Is it me or the server?

You sure you've enquired about work to everyone and talked to the Sheriff on the corner next to the Weapon shop about Westin? That's the key part. Is your speech/intelligence too low perhaps? I can't imagine why if you've talked to everyone you can't get in.

Lynette can also get you in if you wipe out the raiders, if you have intelligence 3 or under you can get in, and if you let Jack blow up the power you can go and run in. (The sheriff can give you the job too but it was said above).

I can't get to the official message boards either. GameFAQs.com has good Fallout 2 message boards though, yay.
