I'm addicted to jet, buffout, and psycho. Please answer some

I thought it would be interested to see different playing a drug addict really is. And to tell you the truth, it's really fun. I mean, not having to worry about getting addicted just so you can kick ass in battle.

My question is this: how long does it take for the buffout and psycho addictions (as well as the nuka-cola, mentats and anything else addictive) to wear off? Right now my characters stats are pretty low. I know it takes a long time, just wonder exactly how long it is.

I wish there was rehab in this game.

Also...

...my NPC Vic is also fucked up on drugs. He has 4 AP and just walks around in battle. How long will it take him to relieve addiction? How can I be sure he's addicted to buffout or psycho?

All right, nevermind. My psycho and buffout addictions went away quickly and it didn't take long to convince Myron of a cure.

Is there anyway I can get more of the cure? I know I can buy it in the tanker but that's not enough.

RE: Also...

How long it takes depends on your character's stats. It you want to play a drug addict character use one of the chemical traits and up your endurance.
As to what Vic's addicted to I'm not entirely sure there's any way top find out. It's usually a bad idea to allow NPC's to use drugs in my opinion.

RE: Also...

A few minutes after posting that message, Vic leveled up and went right back to 9 AP.

I wanted to play an evil character with a drug problem, not a drug addict per se. It's a lot more fun when you don't have to be anal-retentive about becoming addicted.

Also why not give NPC's drugs? It makes them into 10x the warrior they should be.

RE: Also...

Simply because of the problems you've outlined in your questions. It's not possible to get precise informaiton on their drug problems so it's hard to work with NPC's with habits.

Use the Jet Cure or whatever is that.

Re: "Real American Heroes" don't do drugs...*snicker*

[font size=1" color="#FF0000]LAST EDITED ON Sep-11-01 AT 00:08AM (GMT)[p]American? (The word should include Central Americans and South Americans as well as North Americans).
Real? (Most people live under a mask of hipocrisy [I don't know if that is the proper spelling]acting like machos out there and right inside they are just a bunch of FAGs, not that it is a bad thing but why hide it?)
Heroes? (Killing and maiming other human beings because of politcal, economical, cultural or social diferences is a sign of heroism? Then Hitler and Herodes were GREAT heroes. To avoid a really obnoxious tirade, I will just refer to Solid Snake's words when Meryl called him a "hero" and I quote: "I am no hero, I only fight for myself...all the heroes I know of are either dead or in prison)

I mean, you probably didn't mean offense but please don't put those 3 words in one sentence. They are all oxymorons. The only exceptions are those people who were fighting against the odds with their wit and cunning, like Vault Dwellers. Honor is a word to glorify killers.

Yes and drugs are just a quick and easy fix to alleviate yourself from a cruel word...I hate drugs but I pity addicts.

Captain America a hypocrite?

>Remember what Captain america said: "Real American Heroes do not Drugs"

If I'm not mistaken, Captain America started out as a scrawny army reject: too sickly to be a soldier. He then volunteered to be injected with a super soldier serum then subjected to radiation treatment.

So wimp + drugs + radiation = Captain America. I wonder if this works in Fallout 2 :)
