inducing meltdown in Gecko powerplant

when talking to the guy in powerplant control room( dont remember his name) u can trick him into shutting off the cooling
system and inducing a meltdown...
i did it at first and ghoul guards started attacking me
so i didnt proceed, figured that all those guards with
assault rifle would definitely kick my ass, and fixed the reactor
instead.
what happends if one does induce a meltdown?
