Is Throwing skill worth it?

Is Throwing useful, or is it pretty useless? I looked at the throwing knife's stats and it looks pretty weak, but can you aim for the eyes to get critical hits or no? I wanted to make a character like the knife thrower Britt from The Magnificent Seven, but if it's not worth it then I won't bother trying.

I think throwing skill is largely useless. Small guns are always better, and the only time throwing comes in handy is when you have some EMP grenades to use against robots.
Although if you have already played through the game a few times, why not give throwing a try just for something different?
