FO2 issue with town/world button

I just started playing again, i did the temple and started to the second settlement. I walked there (inside the green circle) and click the button i am unable to go in the city. I am probably missing some simple thing but when i go back to the first place i am able to go to all 3 locations. I am running XP and v1.02

The button ? Do you mean the one on the right of the screen ? Have you tried clicking on the triangle that appears in the cicle representing the town on the world map ?
